10 Days Meditation Retreat at the International Dhamma Hermitage of Wat Suan Mokkh (Surat Thani, Thailand)

Venerable Buddhadasa Bhikkhu (Suan Mokkh, Surat Thani)

What is life all about? Founded by the Venerable Ajahn Buddhadasa in 1989, the International Dhamma Hermitage of Wat Suan Mokkh is a perfect place to explore and learn the ???inner side?? of oneself. The chance to reflect, modify, adjust and/or make changes in one???s life.

The Three Resolutions of the late Venerable Buddhadasa Bhikkhu:
1) That all the people strive to realise the heart of their own religion;
2) That all people make mutual good understanding of essential principles among the religions;
3) That all people liberate themselves from the power of materialism

The 10-Day retreat is open for people from all walks of life, regardless of races, ages, sexes, faiths and beliefs. It is valuable for anyone who seeks a happy life; a life that has an aim, a meaningful life, and a life that is free from all stresses, pressures, frustration, or any kind of problem. A life that is beneficial to everyone and everything in this universe.

The retreat is run monthly all year round. It begins on the last day of the month before and ends on the 11th of the month (eg the January retreat starts on December 31st and ends on January 11th). The teaching is free of charge but all participants are required to pay 2000 THB fee to cover the cost of their food and accommodation. Once one decides to do the retreat, one must make sure that one is really free from all business connections.

Suan Mokkh is about 600 km, south of Bangkok and 50km, north of Surat Thani, just off the main highway runing south to Malaysia. Suan Mokkh can also easily be reached by train, bus and plane, but please do not arrive after dark.
