Upcoming Thai Boxing Events in Thailand – World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony and Miracle Muay Thai Festival 2012 in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province during 17-22 March, 2012

World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony and Miracle Muay Thai Festival 2012

Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Administration Organization, the Association Institute of Thai Martial Arts, the Kru Muaythai Association, the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand, and relevant agencies, will be organising the “World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony and Miracle Muay Thai Festival” in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province during 17-22 March, 2012.

This year, Thai boxing enthusiasts from 48 countries who appreciate the beautiful art of Muay Thai will be participating in the World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony and Miracle Muay Thai Festival, which is being organised by TAT during 17-18 March 2012.Visitors will see the professional Muay Thai competition of foreign and Thai boxers at the Ayutthaya Tourism Centre, Old City Hall. The Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, demonstrations of Thai arts, handicrafts, and culture, marking of holy tattoos, making of Aranyik swords, and performing of Thai martial arts will be held at Wat Mahathat on 17 March, 2012.

Besides Ayutthaya, there are training and competitions to be held at the Supphachalasai National Stadium, Bangkok, during 16-23 March, 2012, (except 17 March, 2012) such as Amateur World Championships, Amateur Muay Thai World Championships, Pro-Am Muay Thai World Championships and Muay Thai Training and Seminars, 13-23 March, 2012.

The magnificent events are aimed at praising and promoting Thai martial arts as world heritage that reflect the unique wisdom of the ancestors of the Thai people, which were deployed in the defence of the motherland and reclamation of independence in many historical periods.
