Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi is a 5-star eco-friendly property featured 56 uniquely designed villa accommodations in the natural environment

It was a memorable experience to enjoy the sight of a full moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival (3rd October 2009) in Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi. The trip was organised by TCEB for the media to showcase Thailand ‘s cutting edge accommodations and to promote Thailand as a preferred MICE destination.

This was my second trip to the island this year. Koh Yao Noi (The Main Island) and Koh Yao Yai are two sister islands in Phang Nga Bay located between Phuket and Krabi. The population of both islands is 7000 with a majority of friendly villagers making a living in the fishing and hospitality business. The islands are still considered as Thailand???s remaining Virgin Islands.

After our site inspection in Sheraton Grand Laguna Phuket, we departed from Ao Por Pier (Old Ao Por) by speedboats to Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi. The journey took about 45 minutes. Phang???Nga Bay is filled with spectacular and unusual limestone rock formations. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival in Yao Noi island. A sumptuous Thai and Western buffet lunch awaited us at The Living Room. I was impressed with the friendliness and great service from the staff and the food presentation. Fruits and desserts were located in a room (The Deli) separate from the serving area under controlled temperature.

Each media was allocated a villa and a personal butler. I was lucky enough to win the quiz. I was upgraded to a Deluxe Pool Villa Sea View (??Unit 36) offering a spectacular view over Phang-Nga Bay, its lime stone rock formations (Hong islands) from a distance. It was one of the best accommodations I have ever encountered. Hidden under a massive canopy of trees, the beautiful villa is strategically located to create privacy and allow views.

??The villa has two levels and the upper deck area has comfortable loungers covered with comfortable cushions. At the lower deck, it contains a massive double bed with romantic mosquito netting draped above the bed. The bedroom is tastefully decorated and furnished overlooking the beautiful bay of Phang-Nga. It includes indoor and outdoor showers and private terraces where you can sleep under the stars or relax with your loved one in??a??sunken tub??in the room overlooking the sunset??bay. The villa provides the best luxury services including Plasma TV, complimentary internet access, a fine selection of wine etc. Last but not least, each villa also features its own infinity-edged pool with sundeck, creating an illusion of infinity between pool and bay, and reinforcing a feeling of seclusion.

The Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi has its own time zone; Hideaway time is one hour ahead of Phuket and Krabi. I had an early morning call. A team of experienced spa therapist is available to pamper you with professional treatments. Unfortunately, I missed my appointment For dining, there are other unique dining experiences available, like a romantic dinner for two on the beach, adventurous picnics on one of the remote islands or you can even decide to prepare your own BBQ in the privacy of your own villa or simply take a leisure stroll on the mangrove forest walkway to discover the unique flora and fauna in Thailand. We had a great BBQ farewell dinner on the beach ended with spectacular fireworks display. It was a?? a joyous and memorable experience for all of us.

Well, the villa is far too big for a single soul. After the farewell dinner, most of us spent rest of our time chatting at The Den and headed straight to bed leaving the lights on Six Senses Hideaway Yao Noi is an ideal venue to share with your loved one for that special occasion or honeymoon. For me, it was a wonderful occasion to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with friends from oversea.
