Over the past years, Songkhla province has welcomed milions of visitors and Hat Yai is a popular tourist destination, especially for Malaysians and Singaporeans as they flock in there to shop, eat and play on the weekends. During the festive seasons of Songkran, the hotel occupancy rate in Hat Yai is around 80-90 per cent. In addition, there are many attractions worth a visit around Hat Yai such as the Klong Hae Weekend Floating Market and the newly opened Water Theme Park at Songkhla Zoo or you can simply take the cable car at Hat Yai Municipal Park and enjoy the spectacular sunset over the city.

Today, thanks to the service of Tiger Airway, travelling to Hat Yai is even more convenient for visitors from Singapore. During the roadshow to Malaysia, the mission made a visit to FireFly, the current low-cost unit of Malaysia Airlines. They met to discuss on Firefly’s new route from Subang Kuala Lumpur Airport to Hat Yai. The delegation invited Firefly to operate the service as planned to promote the mobility of increasing visitors. In view that ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is around the corner, the government of Songkhla will take all actions to facilitate business growth of the province.
